Material Board VIII

This material board coincides with a couple of the previous boards posted. The owner of this yacht resides in Hawaii, and wants to bring the essence of the island with him and his family where ever they may travel. This is the main salons' configuration of sofa pillows, trim, and new upholstery covering. Working in small spaces is definitely a challenge. To work on a floating vacation home for a family is a very fine tuned way to design.

Material Board- VII

This material board is for the owner's suite on one of the yachts. The coral color combined with the coral lamps as well as accessories bring this room to life. I have to ask for permission to show you the before and after pic's... but, I must say the transformation is unbelievable. The fabrics you see here are all configured from one basic idea... "Beachy, yet casual and functional design".

Material Board- V

This board is for a twin bunk in one of the yachts. This color scheme is for a young boy around the age of ten. The fabrics are durable yet fun. Keep in mind all of these boards are not for the same yacht, I'm just posting work I've been creating in the past couple of months. My days have been consumed with every minute that I have. For now this is what my creative outlet is and I love to share it with you. Paintings are in the works. Actually, I've finally Giclee'd five paintings. Their up for grabs if anyone is interested. I will be getting them stretched on bars very soon.

Material Board IV- Main Salon

This material board is the main salon on one of the yachts we are working on. These are the pillows configured with the sofa as well as the wall coverings. I have had the honor to see Barclay Butera speak about his designs. This board has been influenced from him.

Material Board III - Pacific North West

This is a different yacht that we recently reconfigured. The client wanted to rejuvenate the interior. The couple is from the pacific north-west, and wanted a darker color scheme. These are a combination of three state rooms interior fabrics. I will update all these pics, the camera does not do the justice of the true colors.

Material Board II- Dining Area

Interior Design, is an amazing transformation of art translated into peoples living spaces. It truly impresses me how a space can change with a lot of thought & an unlimited amount of textiles. This is material board references a Dining Area as well as some tile work incorporated in the Galley. The fabrics represent pillow combination's on the seating area towards the bow of the yacht.

Material Board I - Yacht Design

I have not yet spoke about my other passion related to the arts. I have been working with a Yacht Designer here in San Diego. This a material board I have put together for one of the State Rooms on board one of the yachts. Typically material boards are created using small boxes covered with a swatch of fabric to show the material to be used on a particular piece of furniture. I have put a twist on these material boards by treating the composition as a painting. This way the potential client gets more of a feel of the texture and pattern. I have finished about nine of these boards so far. I am thoroughly enjoying creating these boards.
